Which Print Pieces Do You Actually Need?
You don’t need everything on day one. You need the pieces that support how you actually sell.
Business Cards
Every in-person meeting, trade show, and handoff. Cheap, portable, expected. One of the lowest-cost, highest-use items in your print budget. Order enough for a year.
Brochures
When you’re explaining services or capabilities and the prospect will take it with them — sales calls, open houses, leave-behinds. Costs more per piece than flyers and takes more planning. Use them where the reader has time and interest.
Flyers
One message, wide reach. Events, promotions, grand openings. Design for impact in 3 seconds — one headline, one call to action, essential details. They’re for volume, not permanence.
Presentation Folders
When you’re putting multiple sheets in someone’s hands — proposals, pitch packages, leave-behinds. The folder holds it together and reinforces the brand. Worth it when the meeting justifies it.
Where to Start
- Business cards — almost always first
- One primary leave-behind — brochure or one-sheet that explains what you do
- Flyers — when you have a specific campaign or event
- Folders — when you’re in proposal or pitch mode
